EAS - Emerging Anjali Shutterbug
Emerging Anjali Shutterbugs Contest
EAS (Emerging Anjali Shutterbugs) is a new initiative in Anjali to recognize the power of photography. A picture captures a thousand words and by encouraging anybody to pick up a camera to shoot a photograph Anjali organizers want to bring visibility to many subtle issues.
In 2017, Amateur Photographers, College and School students are invited to participate in “Celebrating Childhood” photography contest. The focus of the competition is to capture, articulate and demonstrate the ability of people, flora and fauna to overcome adversity to survive and flourish. Four works are to be submitted of which two should focus on disability. The overcoming of adversity might be depicted via the ‘ability to be me’, the ability to ‘see the light at the end of the tunnel’ or the ability to ‘step outside the shadows’. Whatever the content, the image must focus on the ability of someone or something.
The other aim of the contest is to help amateur photographers recognize the elements of disability to appreciate and accommodate the ‘beauty’ in disability.
Submissions will be accepted until 25th September, 2017 after which a panel will select the best 100. A designated jury will decide the winners. Then the best 100 will be posted online and general public will be invited to vote for their favorite photographs.
The event will culminate as an exhibition of the best 100 photos will be put up in a national level exhibition. The winners will be honoured in the Anjali dais and photos published in a specially designate website.
